The carbon gray PhotoCross 13 Sling Bag from MindShift Gear is a camera bag that can fit up to a medium-sized DSLR along with two to four lenses, including a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.
Designed to fit snugly against the body, the PhotoCross 13 can be rotated from one's back to front for easy reach to its camera compartment. Access to the camera compartment is then provided by a top-facing zippered panel with a 180° upward opening. Along the inside of that zippered panel are two zippered, mesh organizational pockets which can be used to store and organize camera batteries, memory cards, or small electronics. Within the camera compartment and towards the side of the sling bag that rests against the wearer is a slip pocket with room for a 13" laptop computer, while four adjustable and removable dividers allow that compartment's space to be configured according to the specific camera equipment placed inside.
Also accessible when the PhotoCross 13 is rotated from back to front, is a zippered pocket located in between the camera compartment and the sling bag's front panel which faces away from the wearer. This pocket can be used as a convenient space for books, notepads, snacks, or packable clothing; and its zipper, like the camera compartment's zipper, includes a large, T-shaped pull. When those zippers are both in the closed position, their pulls are adjacent and can be looped together, further securing the contents of the entire sling bag.
In addition to being worn across the body, the PhotoCross 13 can be carried using its built-in top handle as well as its built-in side handle. This sling bag's adjustable, padded shoulder strap rests on the wearer's left shoulder, extends down the torso, and connects to a stability wing that rests over the wearer's right hip. The stability wing helps to more comfortably distribute weight, and like the shoulder strap along with sling bag's outside rear surface, features a resilient, breathable 3D mesh padding. The padding cushions the wearer, and its elevated structure optimizes air circulation, minimizing perspiration in warm and hot environments.
For an enhanced fit, a tuck-away waist belt is included. When used with the shoulder strap and stability wing, the waist belt helps to form a three-point harness that prevents the sling bag from unintentionally shifting around the wearer such as when traveling over rough or very uneven terrain. Along the PhotoCross 13 opposite its side handle is a large, stretchable pocket that can hold a 32oz water bottle, which can be secured using the cord lock on the pocket's rim.
Featuring a durable nylon and polyester construction, the PhotoCross 13 is built to be weather-resistant and includes a seam-sealed cover for use under heavy rain. Six gear loops along the surface of the sling bag allow for extra items to be clipped or tied to the PhotoCross 13. One pair of gear loops is located above the stretchable side pocket, and two pairs of gear loops parallel each other on both sides of the front panel along its top and bottom. Dual compression straps are provided and can be clipped onto the gear loops so they cross the front panel, allowing larger items such as a tripod, monopod, trekking pole, or folded apparel to be fastened against the PhotoCross 13. The stretchable side pocket can also be used to hold a tripod, monopod, or trekking pole; any of which can be secured under one of the included compression straps affixed to the gear loops positioned above the side pocket.
